It was a dark and stormy night. The sixth night of torrential downpours in this area and my house was at the epicenter tonight. It was raining buckets and sheets and the water was coming in my kitchen through the walls. It was due to the massive backlog in my yard causing a small lake. With 8NX in hand (mouth mostly) I'm running around making ditches to divert away from the house. Success! Then I open the light to change the battery and it is damp? I thought it was water resistant, more so than I /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Actually it did rather well and maybe there was some water in the area where the head screws down before the o-ring and I just got the works wet by opening it up? It is dunk resistant right? The catalog implies that it is. If not I will be more cautious in the future.

The 8NX has a hole in the bezel so that gases can vent through a pellet. The 8AX has the same.
Rechargeable models (8X/8xX, 9N/9AN & 10X are not waterproof)
