Ok this is not going to be the brightest, biggest or baddest mod on the site but it is my first attempt.

I popped and drilled out a burnt E1 lamp.
Then Purchased a 5mm Red 1.7 V, 20mA, 3000 mcd, led and a 1/4 watt 220 ohm resister.
I epoxied(?) my 5mm into place
Soldered the negative to the top ring and the positive to the resister and then to the positive tip of the lamp. Turned it on and it actually worked.

I will carry this around in my belt pack with my extra batteries incase of bulb failure as it will give me enough ambiant light to get around.

I have pictures but do not have a site to host my files. Does anyone have a site they would recommend.

Thanks.

Two pics here for now.

Very cool /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif! I don't use my E1e much any more so this is going to breath new life in to it.CPF'er Logicnerd411 is has unused space for picture hosting, look in to that.

Re: E1 lamp Mod, My first!!

Josh,

If I had it to do over I would have used a white 5v, 10000 mcd led instead. O well, unless I can get another burnt lamp I will have to wait.
