I have a Mystery charger from DX and it had Li Ion and LI Po modes
From what I can tell the LiPo mode chargers to 8.4v instead of 8.2v for the Li Ion mode for 2S packs
I have made up several 4P2S packs using protection circuits and charged them in both modes. with no issues except the LiPo mode gets a higher end voltage.
So the question is, Am I doing any harm?

Go ahead and use the "LiPo" mode if you want, Packhorse. Modern Li-Ion cells can be charged to 4.20 Volts/cell. If you use the "LiIo" setting, the cells will only be charged to 4.10 Volts/cell, but will last longer (total number of cycles), and still have about a 90% charge. You may want to do that to extend their longevity.
