My E1B got washed and dried!

After spending about an hour tearing apart the house looking for my edc Surefire E1B I had given up thinking that it would hopefully surface sooner or later. I had checked all over the floor, behind my desk, bed, furniture, you name it. Well fast forward to me taking a pair of jeans out of the dryer and I noticed a familiar shape in the pocket.

Yup, it was there. I took it out and gave it a quick once over. I opened it up and the inside of the body and bezel were bone dry with no signs of moisture. I took a deep breath pressed the switch and it worked in both high and low!

Now thats quality...

Yes, but unfortunately the very slightly warm tint has been cleaned to an ultra-white.

Had you used bleach in the wash it would be a silver E1B by now.

Glad to know it worked out well for you.


Just a suggestion . . . .


I would DISPOSE of that battery.

I once did the same to a McGizmo Aluminum PD. Fortunately, I had the same results as you!

Surefire are excellent lights you can trust. I'll bet that E1B came out smelling fresher than ever!

Now put it in the dryer with some bounce sheets to soften out the beam.

Good thing it didn't have a super-crenelated bezel, or it might have eaten its way out of your pants.

I just had to tell the story, and I'm glad I did. The responses gave me quite a few chuckles.... :twothumbs

I learned that same SF quality lesson a few years ago when my beloved green L1 was washed AND dried! That made quite an impression.
