Our local Sheriff likes his AA MiniMag with the Ill Pill that I gave him so much , he asked me if there was any way that this one could be fixed up with a LED. It's a 7 cell AA flashlight with NO markings.

Anyone have any ideas on how to put a LED in this thing?
It has a clickie tail switch. Beam pattern really sucks. I would guess that that might be the wrong bulb that's in there.

Do you think the EverLED would work? Trying to stay away from cutting on this light since it seem to be a rather rare beaste,

Any idea what incadesent bulb would work?

I tried sliding a MadMax in it but the MadMax is just a hair to large in diameter to fit into the head of the light.

Dang Roth, you're right. The head is tiny compared to the body size. Perhaps the 30mm?

Roy, what is the ID of the light where the bulb is...

That's the "watermelon Torch;" aka the Cold Steel Brute.

I'm thinking of doing a design something like this with a head designed for the 5W emitter. It would maintain the 1" OD for use with AA batteries. Not a flimsy design by any means... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

This thing has an OD of 1" and a ID of a AA battery. the ends of the tube are milled out to a fairely thin wall and threaded on the inside. The Sheriff says it makes a dandy club!

Here's an update on this project.

I put an EverLED in to replace the incadesent bulb. I also put in a AA dummy cell to keep the voltage down to 9v. The Sheriff seems to like this combination.
