First, i do not think a 18650 will fit into the G2 battery tube. Even if it did, the voltage (3.7v) may not be enough to power the LED (2xCR123=6.0v).

Thirdly, this post should be in the LED section as you are asking about a G2 LED not an incand G2.

Nope, the G2 ID is too small for an 18mm cell.

A 17650 will however work fine in the G2. I do not know if its sufficient V to power the P60L though.

I just put a 17650 in my 6P with the P60L module and it works fine. Maybe not quite as bright as two primaries but very hard to tell switching back and forth. There is a small detectable difference between the 17650 and two RCR123 rechargables and the P60L was designed to work in 9volt flashlights.

Bottom line I would not hesitate to run it on a 17650 especially if I already had them available.

My P60L sits on a shelf in favor of an XP-G dropin.

anyway I'm 'talking about the battery 18650th and 17650th as you have said you. What are the differences between these two?

if i remember correct. 18650 is 18mm wide and 65mm long vs 17670 is 17mm wide and 67mm long and 0 is for it's round.
correct me if i'm wrong

should be corrected, but I wanted to know is if they work properly, both with the form that led to that Xenon

thanks for the replies, when I can 'will' if there are differences with the other batteries.

This doesn't make any sense, can you re-phrase the question?

-size, 80mm versus 17mm
-capacity, varies from cell to cell but generally the 18650 will have more capacity
-charge times, will be longer as a result
-current capacity, if the 18650 is an IMR you can push the application up to ~2C. Non-IIR cells typically max out at 1-1.5C. AFIAK there are no 17650-IMR cells, they don't exist.

-No, a 6V Xenon lamp needs 6V, it will be very dim with a single cell, and in some cases it drastically reduces bulb life (surefire A2 for example).

17650/17670 cells will work in a G2 as long as the cells stick to the defined measurements.

I just tried an AW 17670 in my G2 with an XP-G drop-in and it fits fine.

An 18650 cell will not fit the G2.

small update, the battery in the body of the 18650 Surefire G2 does not enter, while in Solarforce L2M is perfectly compatible.

I'm looking to upgrade my G2 to a Cree Q5 drop in and rechargeable rcr123a's. Any recommendations on where to buy the batteries and charger? Please message me at [email protected] with any suggestions.
Thanks :twothumbs
