I have a stream light stinger charger mounted in my truck and hard wired to charge anytime the truck is running. I like the fact that its ALWAYS charged.

The Fenix TK20 is a great AA car light. I use Energizer E2 lithium batteries for higher output, longer runtime and to avoid alkaline leakage and corrosion. I'm not sure if you can get one at your cost target in your location, might be close. The low level is a bit bright for map reading and in car use at night. Outside of the car, low works well for general use with reasonable runtime and high works well for spotting house numbers and other similiar tasks. The only thing it doesn't have is a beacon or strobe.
