ARC UV aaa clarification please?

I ordered an arcUV-aaa just for the fun of seeing how cool it was... but then I got thinking... It could be useful for camping, maybe. Does anyone know if the arc UV will purify water? I looked at the arc site and it does not mention that as one of its applications but it is true ultra violet radiation..... right? Anyone care to clear this up for me.

sadly, no.
you need 294nm light, the arc produces 375nm.

Even at 294nm, you need a fair amount of energy to properly purify water. Not something that's going to be convenient to carry around portably.
