Going to work...Will edit later...Quickly:

1. Comes with STreamlight labeled 123's...Cool..
2. Aluminum construction, very well done.
3. Slimmer than a Scorpion, just a bit thicker than an E2e.
4. Good pocket clip, attached via Allen head screw.
5. Focus goes from bat wing flood to super narrow, intense focus, WITH NO HEAD WOBBLE!
6. Uses same bulb base as the scorpion, not sure if same bulb.
7. Glass lens!
8. Excellent switch assembly. Recessed, not rubberized. Whole light is grippy with ridges, but not too sharp.

Overall, a high quality light. I'm impressed!
More to follow...

I saw one yesterday for $29.95 at my local gun shop. He had just gotten them in. I agree that it looks pretty promising. Didn't see the focusing beam feature but that is very cool! I'd be interested to hear what others know about this new light. What is the lumen output for instance?

r u sure this was not a Twin Task? I heard the LED TL-2's are going to be around $100 and the Xenon about $75.

the msrp is $100 on the LED TL-2 and $75 on the Xenon TL-2
msrp's for the tl-3's are $100 Xenon and $175 LED. These are just msrp's so everyone is gonna be heavily discounting these. IMO, I would buy these any day over a SF light.

Private-I agree. Bright guy has the TL3 LED for $105. I think I will love it if I ever get the blasted thing.

yeah, that's the one I'm saving all my money for John. 85 lumens on an LED flashlight seems pretty bright to me.

Oh man, it looks like I'm going to have to sell something and spring for a TL3 5watter soon!!! TL2 xenon sounds great also but I want a NF2 with the grip ring. I wish I could win the lottery!!

bump. Looks like Brightguy is taking orders for the TL-3. Anyone else notice that Streamlight is giving out specs for lumens instead of candlepower like the previous lights?

Ut-oh...forgot about this (Sorry brighnorm!)...

I've had a TL-3 for about a month. Another good light from SL. Excellent throw, good overspill.

The Lumen numbers are a bit suspect, though. Seem a bit exaggerated...

Quickbeam. Would you say the TL-3 has more lumens than a P61 HOLA?

TL-2 uses the same bulb as the Scorpion to answer the original post.

I got my Scorpion replacement bulb from brightguy and on the order form said Scorpion/TL-2.

FNG: The P61 is rated at 120 lumens per Surefire. The TL-3 is rated at 175 lumens by Streamlight. If they both used integrating spheres that were calibrated properly using standardized techniques, then the Streamlight has more lumens....

The TL-3 definately out-throws the P61.
