I am NOT trying to encourage political debate or argument...this is just a simple poll of CPF users and their beliefs...feel free to not post anything and just vote.

When I said feel free not to post anything I didn't mean not for anyone to post anything...compliment me on my poll design skills if you wish /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif...but really...if you voted other, or want to be more specific, it would be interesting discussion as long as people don't start arguing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Libertarians do not consider themselves to be either right or left. They've got something to offend everyone so don't want to take sides.

georget98: I suppose a TRUE libertarian really doesn't like to be called left or right, but I find that most libertarians have a slant on at least some issues, so I incorporated it into a left or right option. For me, I am a left-libertarian. I agree with LP on gun control, affirmative action, and social issues. I am liberal on tax policy and the economy, including raising taxes and more importantly, balancing the budget (LP position is CRAZY...no taxes???). Both parties share a stance against the war in Iraq and Bush's foreign policy.

By the way, everyone who voted other, care to explain your political ideology? I might have left out some key ones in the poll...

I find it interesting that you lump Socialist and Communist together. Europeans would make a distinction.

Canada also has a socialist party (NDP) that usually picks up about 20% of the vote. Provincially, the NDP forms the government in two provinces (Saskatchewan and Manitoba), is regularly in power in British Columbia and was once in power in Ontario.

Anyway, I suppose it is academic since I saw only one vote (maybe the communist label scared people away - it scared me!)
