Hello!

As there already exists some reviews about the M2S, i wanted to
took some pictures, how the M2S performs...

This lights is bright, has a very nice throw, a useful throw and also
nice sidespill (a lot of sidespill ;)). This makes the light very interesting
to me. Every time i use the new Jetbeam i get a little smile. :grin2:

The result conviced me. This M2S is still not to heavy and to big for me.

Enjoy it! :D

Re: ** Jetbeam M2S vs. SF LX2 vs. McGizmo Haiku vs. WE Sniper --> OUTDOORBEAMSHOTS **

Great shots!

Just wondering about the M2S on high shots... why does one shot look to throw further than the other when both are pointing at the same object if they are both "on high"?? Is one on "high-less than 3mins" and the other one on "high-after 3mins"??

Thanks, Toby, for the beamshots !!

(a lot of sidespill ;))

Yes, indeed, once again shows that M2S has too much spill IMHO. Throw is very good, but I'm afraid the bright foreground hampers night-vison. (I know the snow aggravates this, but still, in comparison with the other lights the spill of the M2S looks brighter.)

The sniper has a nice beam pattern. :)

Greetings from Germany, too !

Hello!

No both shots where taken under the same conditions.

The differences in brighjtness are due to the different distances.
In first two shots of the M2S i illuminated the tower at the highest point
and the the house in the foreground, because of that it looks a little different.
At the other place its the same, the castle is more that 75metres away
than in the other shot...hope that helps. :candle:

Many thanks Alex! :naughty:

I like much sidespill. And IMO its not so easy to find a light with a good
throw and also enough useful sidespill.

Very, very well taken photographs!!! Definitely not a mobile phone camera...:D

The M2S looks a very BRIGHT impressive thrower, however after 3mins I wonder how the brightness and throw of the MID mode compares with its HI mode? Do you have a M1X to compare both the HI & MID modes to? In other reviews they say the M2S mid mode is actually dimmer than the M1X HI mode.

Many thanks! ;)

The difference between the high and mid mode is not as big. Actually i
have no M1X to compare. But in mid mode the M2S is still very bright
with nice throw. I think it could be a little less brigther than the M1X in
high mode, but thats definitly bright enough to walk with the dog through
a dark wood...:D

Thank you for all of your hard work doing this! Despite all the criticism of the M2S, it sure does have one beautiful beam! Wow!

Thank you all guys for the kind words! :grin2:

The M2S may have some problems with the UI, one can live with it (like me)
others not, in that case, Jetbeam will fix it...;)

Thank you for the shots, I appreciate your efforts.

I have one short but sharp question. Are you sure all your shots are taken with the lights aiming consistently to the same spot?

For example the two pics below, it doesn't look very convincing to me that the two lights are aiming at the same spot. Or is it just me?

Hello!

When you walk with your dog outside and the temperature is very very
low, its possible, that some shots dont aime exactly the same spot.
Especially taken several shots at several different setings...
I think you can understand this, or?!

For this there are enuogh other shots, that compare the beam of the
Wolf-Eyes Sniper and the Jetbeam M2S. Just like here:

Sniper
p1010321.jpg

M2S
p1010322.jpg

I like both lights very much, both are very well build! :naughty:

But they have a completly different beamcharacter. The Sniper hat a
4die MC-E that has much more of sidespill a bigger spot and less throw.
The M2S has a 1die SST-50 with less sidespill and more throw, also due to
the much bigger reflector. But comparing these two flashlights, they have
nothing in common. If you would have the same reflectors, you would
have a similar beam...

Or is there anything else you want to mention with your post? :naughty:

Perhaps the shots would have been perfect, if i use a tripod for the flashlight,
like other members do...;)

Re: ** Jetbeam M2S / LX2 / Haiku / WE Sniper and others --> BIG SHOOTOUT pic heavy!!!

Toby: can the M2S turn on in low mode by loosening the bezel WITHOUT first going to HI or MID mode?

Many users are complaining that its not possible...

Did you mean, when its off?

I can loose the head and start with low, by turning on the light, but i need
to choose this brightness level before, due to the memory of the last
brightness setting, i have in this level.

Was that what you wanted to know?
