No I just need a backlight. The diamonds sit on top of the light and you have a hand held loupe and scope.

Building one wouldn't be too hard...and you could get what you want. put a mid range (medium lux/med runtime) LED, and mount it in a case. Place a piece of frost glass or use frosted plexigas to act as a diffuser and light the whole piece up. I saw a miniature illuminated "slide" viewer the other day at a local thrift shop, and I think it would work fine for this app. Unfortunately, I can remember the brand...
