I have an older dropin for my 6P that Mcgizmo made many years ago that is drivin at 917ma. I upgraded it almost two years ago to a P4 LED. So the question is what is the best LED I can easily get to upgrade it now and where can I get it.

Thanks
JT

What battery are you running? What are you willing to run?

Do you want brighter, or just more efficient?

Flood, or throw?

What kind of runtime is adequate?

If you really want to get into it, what do you use the light for?

Are you looking for someone to do this work for you, or do you plan to do it yourself?

I can do it myself I put in the P4 a few years ago. This is one of the first drop ins and I around five years old it uses a separate pill and reflector.

Within the next couple of weeks, Shiningbeam should be restocked with XP-G R4 LEDs mounted on 12mm round MCPCBs.

I believe the only other (safe) choice for pre-mounted at the moment is to order them from Cutter in Australia.
KD sells them on 14mm MCPCBs, but some say they are not actually R5s.

I am just looking for the LED I do not want it mounted on anything.

Thanks

In that case, I believe Digikey has them.

FYI, the XP-G is only 3.45 mm x 3.45 mm in size and is usually reflow soldered to a base.

It's not a direct drop-in replacement for Luxeon I, III, V, or SSC P4 emitters.
