My new L4 with brass collar and button

Here is my new L4. I used my 2x72 belt sander loaded with a 15 micron belt to get rid of some scratches on the brass collar. Then, I followed that up with a buffer and compound.

The thin metal piece is some shim stock I used to fit under the button's set screw to protect the finsh. The other collar is going to go around my E1e. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This is one cool (hot) light. It is extremely bright white, and the switch works great. I like the fact that I can use it as a clicky or as a twisty.

Nascar,

I bought the shim stock years ago. It comes in various thicknesses measured by the thousandths of an inch. I think I bought it at a place like Grainger. I'll see if I can find some more, but I'll bet some of the machinists here know exactly where to find it these days.
