I'm using a G2 with a modified Knoll switch. Nice combination.

Another vote for the Classic 9N. So long as I still have the option of keeping a T3 on hand for occasional extra-long-throw use!

Third vote for the 9N(T). The turbohead is incredibly efficient.

I dont have a SF.... but if i were to buy one, I'd get an L4.
To tell you the truth, I dont like SF a whole lot. There are just some things that turn me off about them.

Re: What\'s your favorite Surefire?

Roy,
Can you describe the switch on your G2?
Thanks,
Jim

You can find the switch here . And here is a picture.

IIt uses the OEM rubber boot on the end of the G2. No tools needed for the mod!

Or look here for a really cheap way to do it...just need a Kroll switch and some AL. foil.

Re: What\'s your favorite Surefire?

Is the foil just acting as a shim that keeps the switch in place, or is it there as a electrical contact?

Re: What\'s your favorite Surefire?

both...the little spring that sticks out of the treads on the Kroll need to make contact with the threads in the battery tube to complete the electrical(-) path to the bulb.

Re: What\'s your favorite Surefire?

I see...thanks.

I've been reading that G2 thread for some time, but keep talking myself out of getting the switches for some reason.

Seems like everbody really likes them though...maybe I should get on it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When was the last time the 9N was made? Seems like a night little light.

Re: What\'s your favorite Surefire?

So far my E1E with KL1 head and Z57. I seem to use it the most right now. I really like my K4 too but just haven't been carrying it to much yet. In fact I put the clickie switch from it onto the E1E. One reason I guess I like it is because I have been carrying it for a week or so and have not used up the first battery yet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

These three, the E1E w/KL1, L4, and M6 are my very first Sure Fire's ever. So far I am very pleased! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have an M6 on order from Dan so may change my mind soon. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: What\'s your favorite Surefire?

What? You haven't heard of the new K4!?!?

Uh......neither have I. Was in a hurry plus I'm still not that familiar with the SF line. Of course I'm sure you knew I meant the L4. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
