I bought this light a little over 2 years ago and it has given me great use. It's been a primary light on camping trips, under the hood of my car multiple times, bitten, dropped, and generally abused. This tear down is a dedication to its usefulness. My hope is that those who are interested in building/modifying their lights are inspired by such a simple light.

Outside cover. Compared to a small Matco screwdriver of mine.

Inside. Let's go exploring.

Button cover removed. Can now see that it uses a flat spring to actuate the LED.

Confirms flat spring as actuation method.

Plastic carrier removed showing inner connecting straps.

Everything out in the open.

The light used 2 CR1220 batteries and an unlisted LED.
Mind you that it never was much competition to any hand held light and it did lose a lot of intensity over its lifetime. But it's durability has been exceptional for what it's been through.
