Max lumens output confirmation for Nitecore EX10?

Hello folks,

I'm looking for someone to confirm the max lumens output of the EX10 SP. Reading Mev's review post from Jan 1, 2010 on the light review forum (a separate forum from CPF), he lists the EX10 with a max output of 235 lumens using an AW 16340 battery. None of the reviews I've seen here at CPF suggest that output is that high, and seem to be close to the manufacturer's listed lumens output of 145.

A long time ago Nuwai made a light called the Q1. It has a 350mA driver, a LuxI (350A max) ~25 lumens. When the LuxIII LED came out (700mA max) Nuwai just swapped the LED 350mA driver ~30 lumens. CPF members quickly found out if they use a 3.6V RCR123A instead of a 3.0V CR123A they can feed 700 mA to the LED getting up to 75 lumens.
CPF members also replaced the 1.5A AAA cells in their L0D CE with 3.6V 10440 upping the 50 lumens to 130+ lumens.
It appears this is what is happening here. A 3.6V RCR123A battery is used instead of a 3V CR123A primary.

A word of warning here. Flashlight reviewers test the lights an hour, a day. You will be using your light many years. The extra power pushed into the light can shorten its life, even make it go .
The Nitecore EX10 is rated for use with both types of batteries so you are OK.
Most Fenix are NOT. Don't try that with a Fenix unless that particular model says you can use RCR123A.

Thank you LEDninja, I understand that this light works on both primaries and rcr123s but I'm looking to get confirmation on the lumens output on the highest setting using a 3.7v lion as the figures I've discovered to this point seem to be in dispute. Do you think 145 lumen figure is based on the use of a 3.0v primary and therefore the output on 3.7v is higher?

If this light can pump out above 200 lumens on a 3.7v battery, I'm buying it. But if the max output is only 145 lumens, I'll focus on other options ( I have the same question regarding the D10).

Compared to my SR3 the EX10 SP with an rcr123 is pretty close (ceiling bounce) to the SR3's max (220) and definately brighter than the next level down (160).

I'd safely bet it's definately around 200ish lumens, a little more even. Kick *** light for it's size.
