Want to make a control module for my bike lights. Needs to be along lines of dat2zip's wizard board. Input: 5-7 vdc. Output: 6vdc regulated. Soft start would be great along w/ dimmable feature. Current capacity needs to be 3.5 A dc or so. Ideas? If this already exists, where can I buy 1? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

I think you might be interested in this:

He makes voltage regulators for bike lights in particular. The only disadvantage is that it will not increase voltage. It will drop it to the proper voltage, which you can specify. It can dim it as well.
It also gradually increases the voltage for a soft start.
I tried this on an Surefire M6 bulb with excellent results!
