Ok so I was just in target store and saw the new(er) mag XL100. The package claims 83 lumens which I didn't think that impressive, but it also claimed 134 meter throw - that sounds unbelievable... anyone know if that is true?
I thought there's no way that can me true but then when I think of the old/original mags I think of lights with 30 lumens than throw a couple hundred yards.

So is 134 meters throw like claiming 17,000 lux? Am I doing my math right?

idk about your math, but 134m throw isn't unbelievable, you will be able to shine a light at an object at 134m, weather or not you'll see much, is a different story.

I have the XL100. The 83 lumens is OTF I believe since it is as bright as my Surefire 6PL. The XL100 does have a much tighter beam however and can see it lighting something up at 100 yards/meters. I significantly lit up my neighbors garage door 2 houses down which was 200 feet away (100ft lots). I'll try the 3rd neighbor down tonight.

Last night I tested my XL100 against several lights of similar nominal output.

I can say that it throws as far as SF E1B so I think that the 130 m claim is reasonable.
