Converting a regular Stinger XT to a LED?

I was wondering who has the best kits for this.
I love the way my Stinger throws. Will the conversion effect the throw? Will I still be able to adjust the beam?
What over all differences can I expect?

Thanks

I posted a similar question about upgrading an old rechargeable stinger.

TerraLux was the only answer given. That might be the only option outside of sending it to someone on here to custom build/modify.

That's it, and it's not that great of an upgrade.

You talking about the TLE-ST Dano?

Not sure of the model number. It's a Cree (with optic built into an included bezel) mounted on an aluminum disc with two small "pins" that press into the Stinger's switch assembly/bulb mount.

The one I have has a purplish, optic-diluted beam that isn't too useful.

Have they updated it?

I think terralux came out with an updated version for that light, much brighter than their previous version.
Check it out.

A good way for an very good update is the Streamlight Stinger C4 upgrade kit, Part Number: 75712, there is all you need for replace.
I tested it for myself. Great Beam, good spot, i was surprised from it.

That's a whole light. The Terralux is just a bezel and LED module.

So can a regular Stinger use the C4 update kit, or does it have to be the LED Stinger?

Just got off the phone with Bob (Customer Service with Streamlight)
He said the C4 update would not work with the regular Stinger XT.:mecry:
I guess I'll go another route.
Have any ideas what flashlight would be a great flood and a great thrower, in one package? Without being too bulky.

That is not a whole light, it is Original Streamlight Upgrade Kit !

Streamlight part number 75712 is a full flashlight, Stinger LED with DC only charger.

Streamlight part number 75768 is the C4 upgrade kit.

Thanks, though, as I did track one down (Streamlight upgrade) and will see how it is...(assuming the place I ordered it from actually has it in stock.)

Update. Streamlight's upgrade is specific to the Stinger LED models.

It converts non-C4 Stingers to the C4 LED (the pre-C4 Stinger LED used a Luxeon 3 watt LED, the "C4" Stinger LED uses a Cree LED).

It is NOT compatible with any of the incan. based Stinger models.
