Thanks a bunch for the pics csshih, BUT...how 'bout some comparison beamshots between the V1 and V2???? :naughty:

Re: ThruNite Catapult Detailed Pics!

well.. there's a slight problem with that.

my V1 is lower ouptut than production
my reflector is physically dented -- which changes my beam.

the v2 is at a higher drive current than the production v1.. it will be slightly bright ;)

I can notice it being brighter between proto v1 and v2. Not sure about production v1 and v2.

Alright, alright...how about some hi-low beamshots of the V2 only then?

After handling both versions, which interface do you prefer and why? I read that they changed how the v2 works.

Hey Craig, could you describe the mode switching mechanism,
..is it like other 'twist type' further down the head??

~ Thanks for the photos... V2 looks like a winner!

Re: ThruNite Catapult Detailed Pics!

you are turning the actual tube portion. -- where the battery tube meets the driver portion.
I prefer the V2 UI.. much simpler to use if I'm ever in a problematic situation.
also, the level spacing seems nice -- use it outside and see ;)

Hey Craig:

How's the tint on the V2? Would the tint of the V2 be as warm as the M1X? I figured there's not much point getting the V2 if the tint is too cool to be useful outdoors.

sorry, I haven't handled a M1X, but it's a standard cool white MC-E, right? It seems the SST50s are slightly warmer than the MC-Es we're used to.

I'm interested in getting the SS bezel when they start selling them seperately. Can you confirm if the V2's bezel fits in your pre-production Catapult's head?

Is it just me or does the tube on the right (V1) looks WAY better then the one on the left (V2)?! MUCH better quality knurling and no chips/flaws in the anodizing...

The question that lots of people want to know the answer: is the steel bezel compatible with the v1?

edit: Craig, my Catapult is a v1 made in 2010 and has the same switch contact as the v2 in your pics. My reflectors (both OP and SMO) also have to have a slightly bigger opening, it doesn't touch the LED, I think it's just the earlier versions that were smaller.

just some bits and particles from the factory.. I should have cleaned off the lights before taking the pictures, sorry.
also, the new version is the one with the better knurling. the cuts are done straight (like | ) instead of ( / ) , which makes it grippier.. I think.

I answered earlier that mine were compatible. thanks for the info on the reflectors.
