Difference between old and new Backup?

Well, I had a Surefire Backup and when we moved, I seemed to have misplaced it. In fact I am missing 2 SFs, 2 Fenix and a few others.

Anyways, I am almost sure it is around here, I just cant find it.

Well, tonight we were at Bass Pro and my lovely wife encourages me to get a replacement backup. I have a couple of questions about it.

First, I am almost sure this is brighter than the last one, which was plenty bright enough itself. Is there some change that might make it a hair brighter?

Second question. You can see in the photo that under the word "BACKUP" is alot of writing...patent numbers and such. My first one just had "Backup" with none of the other stuff under it. Does this signify any change?

Yes, the newer E1B's use a brighter bin LED that wasn't available when the E1B was first made. Besides that there is no known changes.
