I hwas thinking about upgrading my well used Magcharger with a higher output bulb - upgraded battery pack - ceramic socket if needed. Will my Magcharger switch handle the extra power & heat? I haven't seen any upgraded switches for these and don't want the hastle of trying to install a rocker switch. Are these swiches better than the Mag D switches?

I don't know if the MC switch can handle more or less current than the standard Mag D switch, but I doubt they're interchangeable if you want to maintain the stock charging system. The MC switch has no problem (current-wise) with the 5761, even @ 7.2V, so 5-5.5A is no problem. You'll definitely need to do something about the bulb socket though - either a heat shield like the mica discs Litho123 used to include with the 1160 bulbs he sold, or an FM ceramic socket (or the like).

These flashlights use MC switch which can handle 5.5 Amp of 1909 very well, and reliability was my main concern using MC switch instead of cheaper "C" or "D" switch.
