- You also think the classic SuperFlashlight III is the most beautiful light ever made?
- You do not like the new two piece design as much but would like the brightness and beam of the modern Ostar SMT ?
- You are anxious the knurling of the SF III Titanium might not come out as beautiful as the original one ?

So here is YOUR light!

I modded an original SuperFlashlight III with an Ostar SMT Module of the current run.
I also bored the barrel so you can use (R)CR123 as well as the longer cells.

I made two of these mods, one will go into the grave with me, the other one is now for sale as I need to collect funds for another project.

The light is absolutely flawless as it was never used outside my home.

Easyled, I am not sure how these cells are really named.
The long cell which is exactly twice as big as a CR123 does fit.

Nevermind Jochen, there are 2 main types of longer cells (that are twice the length of CR123s) - the 17670 and the 18650. The 18650 is wider and has more capacity. It should say on the label of the cell which one it is unless it has been removed for some reason.

Anyway, well done for selling this light so quickly and congratulations to the buyer. :)

:twothumbs

In this SF-III should according to the ArsMachina's statement 17670 (2x CR123) fit.
18650 are 2 mm shorter but 1 mm thicker.
However, I will try it out since I have both batteries.
I still have the same SF-III new body (2-part), however.
18650 match purely in my SF-III and it is offered for the sale here at the latest tomorrow since I do not need two.

So the light takes the 17670 cell.
I removed the labels from my cells because they do not fit my SuperFlashlight V with the labels. The space there is very tight :)

Even the light works with a 17670 it is brighter using two RCR123.
Sure it needs some power to drive the Ostar right :)

Yes, this light has three stages with memory as I used an original module from Mike for this mod ;-)

BTW. I have another of these module here because I first wanted to mod three old SF III.
But then I did not buy a third donor light to mod and the module is still sitting here around...
So if anyone is interested to have his original SF III modded with an Ostar SMT Module from Mike just drop me a PM ;-)
