Is there any light out there with a battery tube which could hold 3x18350? I am looking for a cheap host to build something special.

Thanks

Interesting configuration. Why not two 18650?

That gets very long. I want something slightly longer than an 18650 host, but with the voltage of 3 cells. Of course, there is 3xCR123. But why not use the added capacity of 18350s? I think they should darn near replace the 123. :D

Wow, that is no where near what I was looking for. But now I want to buy it. :p

A Wolf Eyes Rattlesnake with the short extension will fit 3 x 18350s.

Truthfully I was hoping to find an el cheapo for under $50. It's for a laser host. I may be out of luck.

I tore apart a Fenix TA30 already, which was *going* to be a perfect host after I drilled the tube out for 18mm cells. Well, that was a disaster. Fenix puts so much damn glue in there that I can't get the rest of the threaded pieces apart and I've already destroyed the light. Seems like Fenix is out to deny anyone of getting their lights apart.

Surefire 9P bored to 18mm.
Surefire C3 bored to 18mm.
Surefire 6P bored to 18mm + solarforce 18mm 1-cell extension.
Solarforce L2M + their 1-cell extension, both in 18mm ID.

Any 18mm light that can take 3x 123A's will do it. I've done this in my Seraph and Solarforce with a 13v Lumens Factory drop-in.

But for this length set-up I prefer 2x 18500.

Going from 7.4V(8.4) to 11.1v(12.6) usually helps nothing and you have less capacity in the 3 cell set-up due to an extra physical package robbing usable capacity.

I'm using 2x18350's exclusively in my Seraph with a 3-mode LED at the moment.
For any 2xcell standard size setups at least.

2x18500 or 2x18650 going up in size.

Mag 4 cell C light with 1" PVC tube ----- < $20

Arrrg... beat me to it

I think the Mag 4C is the perfect host for a *3 18650 torch.

... and a long dummy spacer.

4xC = 200mm
3x18350 = 105mm

I think you might be mistaken. An unprotected 18650 cell is 65mm long. 3 times 65mm is 195mm giving you 5mm of play.

You are mistaken. Read the title of the thread, and his post. We are talking about 18350s, not 650s.

I've sorta been wondering about all these odd suggestions. :thinking:

:oops: I was wondering how he ended up with 105mm

Well I would still recommend the C series Maglite.

You can probably stuff 5 18350's in a 3C Maglite. Or maybe even 4 18350's in a 2C with a small spacer.
