Ok so I finally got my mini thrower all together. Here are the parts

1. xp-g r5 on 10mm board
2. bb nexgen 1000ma driver
3. 1 AW protected 14500 battery(custum spacer to take up the extra battery space)
3. acrylic ball from the shoppe
4. All put together and stuffed into a 2 aa mini mag

I had a brain fart and I twisted the head down to far. The led still works but the silicone dome fell off:fail:.

What is that going to do to my output/throw?

It appears the die image that it casts is smaller now.

The dome makes more light hit the reflector. A bare XP-G with no dome will 'throw' a bit farther, but I think that domeless will hurt your throw in a reflector. Give it a shot and see!

Edit
self-face-smack - I don't think it'll make much difference with the ball on there.

As long as it doesn't affect it that much I wont worry about it.

Maybe i'm missing something, I just looked up the "acrylic ball" on the shoppe and i'm a bit confused as to its purpose. In the description it says it helps the MiniMag throw. So is this considered an aspheric lens for the minimag?
