No, you need two bored A19's. The A14 is essentially the same length as one 18500, or 1AA cell.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but what sort of drop in would be good to run in a 9P with A14? You could do 3x17500 (or 18500 if bored) so I'm wondering what sort of drop in could handle all that voltage.

What LED or incan options that would be nice and bright?

Thanks!

12v is a lot for an LED setup. Incan on the other hand, loves 12v.

BTW, it didn't exist at the time, but 6P+A14+ZRS=2x18650 is now possible.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure both the Malkoff M91 series, and the old Malkoff M60 MC-E series, would handle 3xLi-Ion cells.

I'm not sure about the older M60 MC-E, but Gene had stated in the Malkoff M91 thread that the M91 can handle 3 Li-Ion with no problems.

I'm going to bump this one more time with a different question:

Based on ElectronGuru's post here, he says the 6P body is 70mm, A14 is 50mm, and the Zerores shorty adds 15mm, so I'm looking at a total of 135mm if I combine the three.

Is there anything that would work with this combination? Or would I be stuck with a useless host that was ALMOST long enough to fix 2x17670? I see the A14/AN14 extenders all the time for dirt cheap and I'm just trying to find ways to make them useful.

I suppose an AN14 with my G3 would allow me to run 3x17500, but not sure what drop in would be served well by 11.1 volts...

Kestrel is using 2xAW18650 2900mAh with his bored 7Z. I don't how long the 2900 is but my AW 18650 3100mAh are slightly longer than my AW17670's. I don't have a ZeroRes so take the rest of this FWIW . . .

I took a 6P body with Mac's Triple drop-in and measured the distance from the tail to the top of the cells. The batteries were recessed 3.72mm inside the body. The Mac's Triple has a very short spring and I would estimate it had only a little over 1mm of compression.

I then added an A14 and installed two AW 17670's and measured the distance from the end of the tail to the tip of the battery. The battery protruded 11.39mm from the 6P+A14 combo.

Put them together and you get 15.11mm. I think you should talk to Kestrel

For taking the dog out at night, I'm currently using a G2-YL + an A14-YL (from my days of using the SF B65(?) nicad stick). I first drop in a delrin-body (with conductive center-post) 15mm spacer, and then 2x AW 17500. I'm running a P90. It's not that much longer than a G3. Make sure that the 15mm spacer is not the solid aluminum version, because the 15mm metal spacer available from Lighthound, for example, would cause a short in this configuration.

I'm running a P90.

That P90 setup is awesome. I've used that LA with two Li-Ions, 17500's, and 18650's. Doing some basic bounce with a lightmeter, and comparing it to other incan lights of mine it shows an estimated 200 lumens, and using Li-Ions that output lasts for quite awhile.

+1 on P90. One of the easiest LA's to run since it is friendly to both 3 primaries and 2 li-ions.
