Can Surefire LX2 out-throw Eagle Tac T10LC2?

I have the eagle tac, and I find it to be a very good light for projecting a beam into the distance. I am intrigued by the LX2, as I'm looking for a pocketable light that will throw even better. Thoughts on the LX2 in this regard? Any other alternatives you'd like to recommend for a good pocket thrower? I'm interested mainly in lights that will run off of 123 primaries or an 18650 rechargeable (other types not out of the question, though).

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Don't know about the LX2. In terms of the T10LC2 the T100c2 will likely out throw it. So will the T20C2...

IMO the A9/DBS is plenty pocketable and will out throw all of those lights.

Is that as in <"duh, the A9 obviously something you should consider"> or <"A9 is not one that I would consider"> or... something else?

Just not sure how to interpret that..

I just don't know what a DBS A9 is?

Oh.. I bet it is Tiablo A9 OR DBS - sorry brain fart. I don't own an A9 but I've read they are great throwers. Dereelight DBS is too. Funny, I just couldn't figure A9/DBS for a minute. I must be tired.

Could be he does not know much about the A9 and wants to know more about it. I know it is hard to figure out what a post means when it only has one word in it, made up of a letter and a number. Makes us come up with all kinds of assumptions about what he meant, though we do know what A9 means in this context.

As I wrote - I figured it out and SHOULD have known right away. When I get tired my memory isn't very good.

Personally, I'm waiting for the DEFTDBSA9v2 .

I should have separated them, I figured since the DBS and Tiablo A9 have approximately the same throw I'd lump them in together into one frankenlight.

You did fine. I just wasn't thinking clearly.

Thanks for the comments guys. Still hoping someone with experience with both flashlights might chime in with some direct comparison...

Check out this comparison, it should give you a good idea of what to expect. You should compare the lights at 1s exposure for a realistic picture.

It also helps to compare their known lux numbers using sites like:http://www.light-reviews.com/reviews.html

Search is your friend. I got 3 links, and 1 embedded link within a minute of searching "LX2".

According to the first link the 1m lux of the LX2 is about 9k. This beats the 1m lux and 5m lux of the T10C2 which means it will have better throw, but not by that much.

This also means that lights such as the Tiablo A9/DBS (22k), the higher tiablos, T100c2, T20c2 won't have trouble out throwing the LX2.

EDIT: generally its good practice to allow 500 or 1000 +/- lux for comparison as individual samples will vary.
