I was just wondering around avnet and came across the green sst-90 "SST-90-G-F11-JH200" it says it puts out 1650 lumens at 6.3 amps and has a max drive current of 9 amps! isn't that about the same as the brightest sst-90 white led? What would you use that much green light for?

Hi

I have used quite a few in modules and the red will work if you use a 2.8 amp driver. When we used a direct drive board we could use use a 18650, a 26650 got it too hot and the IC would not switch levels. Of course a host with more heatsinking than a module may not have that trouble.

All of the colors heat up pretty quick as they are SST 90's but if you use levels or keep the amperage down a bit then they are OK but they are big leds.

Osram makes a red diamond dragon that is pretty bright and some members have used them for bike lights and they have been pleased. They also make a true green.

If the power specs of the SST-90's don't work for you Satistronics makes 10 and 20watt arrays of green and red.
