Hello,

could you please measure the tail current (holding amperemeter between battery and end of your A9) and tell me how high the current is?
WIth fresh loaded 18650 or 2 fresh cr123 (just tell me what u were using).

would be really nice if someone could measure that for me!

thanks in advance

greetings,
Annika

Welcome to CPF, Annika3 :)

As the Tiablo A9 is a LED light, I'll move your request to the LED Flashlights section.

erm thx :)
Didn't see that there is a special forum for LED Flashlights - sorry.
Hmm I could swear i already had some posts as I ordered some 18650 from AW 2 years ago - wonder where they went to
Anyway - thx for moving this thread to its correct subforum!

thx DMS1 & heng84!
But I really hope someone with a "geniune" LED can measure it - there should be many people out with a Tiablo A9, hopefully someone could measure this :)

This is what i got from my unmodified A9 with stock Q5 emitter

18650 TrustFire 2500mAh @4.14 Volts - .8 amps = 3.3 watts
16340 UltraFire 880mAh @4.16 Volts each - .63 amps = 5.25 watts
CR123 Titanium innovations @3.25 Volts each - .8 amps = 5.2 watts

hope this helps

Not very good. I don't have one but XP-G doesn't throw well with aspheric lens because of wide beam and low intensity per square mm..
Maybe but how come the Maelstorm throws a lot for an R5 torch? Only 1 way to find and that is to do it the CPFer way, hehe :tinfoil:.

Because it has deep smooth reflector designed for XP-G (not aspherical lens). XR-E with that reflector (dimensions) would throw better.

Now I finally could measure mine too, this is what I get on my A9 with stock Q5 emitter:

18650 Trustfire 2400mAh @ 4.21V: 0,62 A = 2.61W
CR123 Panasonic @ 3.18V each: 0,91A = 5.78W

I wonder, why I get so low A with my 18650 (doesnt matter if I use Trustfires,Ultrafires or my AW cells - all have nearly same "fresh" Voltage) compared to the cr123 (yes I know the A9 is optimized for cr123 - but such a huge difference?
