Re: WTB: Leef 4x26500

I don't think there is such a thing. The only Leef bodies which will fit the 26500 are these. You'd need 4 segments and a tailcap and M adapter. The M adapters can be found, but the tailswitches are rare.

The BigLeef system came before 26500 cells. These cells do not fit in the BigLeef C segments, only in the BigLeef 26650 segments. The C segments can be bored, however.

I still search and have enlarged my search.
Are there still alternatives to the Leef body?

The only thing I can think of would be an M6 with enough extensions to fit your desired cells.

For example, I have one with 2x FiveMega extensions and 1x AWR extension. It holds 3x 26500 with 3/4" to spare. Another couple of extensions would do it, or you could contract with a machinist to make a single extension of the appropriate length.

You also may be able to have an adapter made which could mate a long Maglite tube to an M-series head.

Hi donn,

thank you for your help!
I have some enquiries regarding the extension started.
Do you also have a photo of your M6?
I know not what it is for a thread since otherwise I would take it as an industry mechanic myself.:naughty:

Genna..what is your project? It appears, from the voltage levels, it's an incan hotwire.

In my opinion, the Maglite platform is superior to the M-Series Surefire for such a project. Here are the reasons:

A light this long is far easier to use with a side-switch.

There are more and better head/reflector combinations for Maglite, than for SF M heads.

They are readily available, including stock lights and FiveMega's offerings.

Re: WTB: BigLeef System (M-Neck+4x26500+Tailcap)

My project is PAR36 with Martek 4509Q!
I will get one SF 'M' and one M*g 'D'.
Both in gray.
I will buy one FM 4xIMR26500 for the M*g 'D'. And for the 'M'?
I must otherwise choose another bulb and battery configuration.
You know because of something the group buying of 4509Q?
I have enquired and got a supply.

I'm thinking about a group buy for one of the 4509Q lamps, but will wait to see the results of people's experiences with all of the brands.

Re: WTB: BigLeef System (M-Neck+4x26500+Tailcap)

i need a BigLeef System Body (SF M-Neck, 4x26500 segments, tailcap) possibly in like new/good condition and in Natural Grey.
Since I still can get me some parts only got me suffice the Tailcap.
It also can be for one other manufacturer, shall be able to take 4x IMR26500 as well as M-series match and in HA III gray finish.

My project is PAR36 with Martek 4509Q!

Just to make sure I understood correctly.
You are looking for something like this but takes 4x26500
Let's say even if you find one, what tail switch are you going to use for 10 Amps application?

I am looking for a similar host for a similar need, maybe you can create another batch of 3x26500s with an optional 26500 extension. I am not sure if there is enough demand for this item though.:ohgeez:

Re: WTB: BigLeef System (M-Neck+4x26500+Tailcap)

Hi FM,

unfortunately, I cannot answer your question regarding the Tailcap since I do not have so much knowledge yet. I prefer to have the experts answered under you there. I would have taken the AW M*g switch away from 4x IMR 26500. I know only the AW soft switch or McClicky at the M series Tailcap.

Make a 4x26500 Megalennium
!!!

I then do not need to search further now.

I still search!
