Kx4d or kx4

I recently bought a G2 Nitrolon as an economical edc. I have more expensive lights but I wanted something I could easily replace. I'm looking into getting an LED conversion head and I can't decide between the Type III finished KX4 or the Type II finished KX4D w/ strike bezel. I'm looking for heavy duty but also would like the self-defense option. I would use it as an edc and probably take along as a back-up tactical light for urban exploring. Any opinions?

If, as it sounds, you can't have both, the answer is pretty simple. Which is more important, protecting the light or protecting yourself?

What EG said. These bezels are pretty nice...a little too much draw for R/C's (I only use B65's), but there nice options on primaries.
