I'm a total noob to flash lights, but after being shown a surefire g2, I've been convinced I have to have a good light

After some research, I came up with the StreamLight Polytac LED, http://www.streamlight.com/product/product.aspx?pid=159#
I don't see anything about rechargeables, they ship with disposable lithiums. Are there lithium rechargeables that work with this particular flashlight?
More importantly, is this flashlight well suited to camping, fixing cars, housework, blackouts, etc?
