I lost my Nitecore D10, and I really enjoyed that light. I'd like to pick up my next light that has some key features that I really got a lot of use out of. So, I'm in search of suggestions on my next purchase.

I'd like this as good as the D10 or better:
- The low setting, very nice low on the D10.
- Throw; not great on the D10, but I liked it just fine.
- I'd like a better purchase on the clicky or piston. Maybe a slightly deeper well for my thumb or something of the sort.
- Preferred Single AA (CR123 is fine too)
- Strobe not necessary, I didn't miss it a bit on the D10 R3.
- And of course, massive amount of light out the front for a high!
- I liked the size, but the D10 was a little small in my hand.

That was my first light and it lasted me about a year until I lost it. Value is high on my list, so McGizmo's are out. Thanks for helpin' a new guy! Feel free to post where I should be researching, I don't mind reading.

The CPF top choice would probably be an HDS Ra Clicky.

Some single cell lights, without too much filtering for your criteria (but left out DX type stuff):

1AA (some take 14500 too):
Fenix LD10+
Maratac AA
Photon Proton Pro
Quark Mini AA (twisty)
JetBeam Jet-I
Olight I15
Zebralight SC50
iTP A2 EOS (twisty)

1CR123 (some take 16340 too):
Fenix PD20, PD20+, PD10, P2D, P1D
Surefire T1A Titan, E1B
Dereelight C2H
iTP A1 EOS
JetBeam Jet-II, RRT-0
Liteflux LF3XT
Lumapower Lumacraft D-Mini (various models), Incendio
Nitecore SR3, EX10, Extreme
Novatac EDC-120P
HDS Ra Clicky, Twisty
Zebralight SC30
Quark Mini 123 (twisty)

As a current Nitecore D10 R2 owner (ramping model), the Quark AA Tactical fits the bill nicely. I just bought one for my girlfriend and it's quite nice. Much better pocket clip and nicer beam pattern. I also like the lower low on the Quark.

i much prefer the fenix ld10 over the nitecore d10 but it lacks a decent low mode
