I found in the garage an early surefire 123 battery storer - that has a tiny light with it - color , clear brown plastic,--- anyone got one?? you put the little light on top of the--- 12-- battery storer and you have a small lantern, it must be at least 10 years old.

That was the Hurricane battery holder. I have 3 of them.
I hope it's safe! I carry one around with a dozen 123's in it daily. 
I beleive them to be perfectly safe.

I have batteries in them as we speak. I put batteries in them the day I got them and I've used them for battery storage ever since.
No concern that I know of for the batteries. Unless you use the little lamp there is no complete circuit. You saying my house is gonna blow up?

I bought one a few years ago when they were closing them out. I thought to keep it around as an emergency light while vampiring my almost dead bats.
