"Infamous" PORT 113

\"Infamous\" PORT 113

SHIELDSUP says my ports are fully stealthed except for 113 which is merely "closed". It goes on to give the pros and cons of stealthing it.

I have a router/firewall and I'm not sure how critical it is to stealth port 113, and unfortunately I don't have the technical expertise to do this.

Does anyone have opinions on this?

113 is the port used fort ident. Whether you should block it or not depends very much on what you use your comp for. IRC uses it a lot, and POP3 email uses it too. Have a look at this page:
