Quark AA^2 tactical flashes when turned on?

So, I got my quark AA^2 a few days back and I love it with one problem-when I turn it on after a few seconds of being off, there is a very fast flash. This is not a huge problem, and I've only really just started to pay attention to it, but it could be a real PITA if my eyes were totally adjusted to the dark and I tried to use moonlight mode, only to have my pupils dilated by the flash. It's too fast to tell which brightness level it flashes at.... It does this flash no matter what I set both modes to or which mode I start up in (loose or tight). Is this flash normal?

Do a forum search for preflash. In those threads you will likely find links to others. It was a major topic here not too long ago.

Yes it is normal for certain circuits.
