Hello All-

The collective knowledge & craftsmanship of the members here is awe inspiring as well as humbling as f*#k!

I was wondering what your advice was on sourcing the best quality DIY parts, (reflectors, lenses, LEDS, switches, etc...) and drop-in mods for the learning flashlight mod newbie...

Thanks in advance for your time & information. All the best to you guys...

:welcome:

Now, if you think you want to start out with drop-in modules first, you can find a lot of info by searching the forum. Click here for a search on p60 drop-in modules, and click here for a search on p60 hosts.

If you would like to start modding, I say start with a Maglite because there's so much info on here about how to do it, plus that seems to be the host of choice for most mods on here anyway. There's a large availability for Maglite parts too, and that's always a plus. Click here for a heatsink, click here or here for a lens.

You really need to search around, and decide what you want to do first, then start a thread (with pictures :grin2:) stating that it's your "build log", and people will help you along the way as you need help. I know this isn't really giving you much info, but their are so many different options out there, that you need to decide what you want to do first, then we can help you in choosing the correct parts that will work well together.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Curious:
Why are the LEDs not suitable?
