Hi, Can you experts suggest a good dive light? I was looking at the PT surge, is this a good dive light? Will this light be too bright for diving? Please advice!, Thanks a lot

The Surge is a terrible dive light. Too many reports of it flooding.

No it's not too bright.

Reasonable alternative to the Surge is the UKE SL4 or SL6 which use 4 or 6 C cells respectively.

I'm not sure you should worry about a dive light being too bright! You are usually trying to overcome murky water or adding full spectrum light to the seascape that has had the reds and other longer wave lengths of light already filtered out. If you just need to illuminate guages or gear, that's one thing but if you want to reach out or illuminate your surrounds, that's another issue.

Have you considered a LC100? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I love UK lights the SL6 is a great light and so is the LC100 but they have very different price tags. I have had a Surge flood and would not trust it as a dive light. Right now I use a LC100 as a primary a SL6 as a back up and a UK 2L as a back up back up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
