Just had a message from my brother this morning, warning me that he might have infected me with a virus called jdbgmgr.exe, said to be undetectable by Norton or McAfee and he warned me to delete this file immediately.

It's not a virus, it's a part of Windoze and this is a hoax, probably being played now that everybody is so jumpy after MSBlaster and SoBig.

This is similar in nature to the sulfnbk.exe "virus" hoax which was doing the rounds two years ago.

This hoax has been going for a good few months at least. If remember correctly, the jdbmgr.exe is a java debugger, with an icon shaped liked a teddy bear. Deleting this file does no harm to your system, but Hoax virus warnings like this probably costs industry a lot of money through time wasted.
