I have an older light (Pelican M3) with a LED that's easily accessible that I'm thinking of trying out my first real mod on. (Assuming I don't burn the house down trying to use a soldering iron...)
It has a star-mounted Luxeon III right now. I know a SSC P4 star is supposed to be a drop in replacement, but I'm curious if there's any other options. Tailcap current on the light is .7A according to my DMM, if that helps.
