Looking to get rechargeable 18650s because well im tired of burning up cr123's. These will get used in a tk30 and maybe a streamlight polytac led! Don't want to spend more than $50 on two batteries and a charger.

Aw's are considered best. I've found that the Soshine brand is a very good quality battery also. Sold by DX.

You'll probably get more traffic and answers in the battery forum.

If you only use your tk30 without the extender (1x18650), spend $50 on a Pila charger and salvage some free cells from an old laptop pack.

If you use it with the extender, then spend $50 on a Pila charger and $32ish on 2 AW 18650s.

Moral of the story: don't skimp on the charger.

Secondary moral: in single cell formats, you can skimp on the cells, but not in multi-cell formats where cell reversal is real possibility.

In 1 cell config, Panasonic unprotected rules 2900 mAh.

In 2 cell config, AW. Just came out with the same cell, but protected circuit added.

2 AW 18650s and 1 Pila IBC will definitely cost you more than 50, the Pila itself is 50...

The latest and greatest AW P18650-29 is 17.75 each, add 4.45 for delivery, and the Shekor can be had for about 10 bucks. Total spent will be 50.

I'd avoid anything from Soshine. Will be tossing out my Soshine charger after mdocod tested one out, and found it to be extremely suspect.
