When opened up the tube to replace the batteries inside, I found that the 2 CR123a batteries were inserted with + towards the end clicky switch and not towards the LED bulb end. I used the unit right away when unpacked weeks ago without opening the tube. Never seen something like this in other flashlights before. Great Momentary and Constant modes. Any experience ?

I have the 100 lumen T2. It's a good light. I also have an original Inova TIROS version T2 -- a longer and completely different light.

Most Inova lights require the positive terminal of the battery (or batteries) to point to the tail switch.

However, the X1 is an exception.

Yup, same here. I have the Inova T1 and T2 and both have the positive end facing the tail cap.

I will also add, they are bullet proof lights.
