I like my MG lights, an sst-50 thrower for $75 seems fair.

is it a great thrower, 50/50 spot/flood or too many problems to bother with?

It's actually called the MG X-Thrower I've had the Neutral White version for about 3 months now, and it's been a great light to me. The build quality is excellent, threads and adonizing are perfect, and boy does it throw a huge beam of light. I'm not sure what problems you've heard about the light, but I haven't had any so far. I did accidentally knock off the dome on the SST-50, which is entirely my fault, but on the bright side it gives better throw now.

As a side-note, the smooth reflector from a Sacredfire V-65C (which is an MG RX-1 copy) will fit into the X-Thrower and give it slightly better throw, but the difference was not big enough to me so I just kept the stock OP reflector in there...FYI if you'd like a $30 reflector

Hi! Anyone knows where to get a smooth reflector for the MG X-thrower? I can't seem to find any Sacredfire V-65C as advised, so ideas are welcome.
