Just got mine, the tint is perfect!! Definitely warmer than my M61W/M61WL. It is actually almost identical in tint to my M60WL/M60WLF/M60W. Not too warm, not too cool.

On my M61WL I got 8 hours off a 26000 AW 18650, followed by an hour of 10 lumens.

Just popped a fresh AW 2600 18650 into a Oveready Orange 6P.

Gonna see how long she goes. :D

Re: Malkoff M61WLL

So the (your) M61WLL is warmer than the M61W & M61WL & compareable to the M60W line?!?!?!? :twothumbs

Did he change the LED? Or was it just luck of the draw?

I would looooooooooooooooooooooooove to get an M61WLL. But I have read so so so so so many reviews saying the M61W line really isn't warm. Even the pics that are posted on here, some show a clear blue tint! How is that warm? Anywho....Looking forward to your run time test on your new prize

Re: Malkoff M61WLL

That run time is fantastic!!!

Just curious:

Any idea of how much longer the standard M61LL runs as compared to the Warm M61WLL?

Is it negligible or are we talking an hour or more?

I am wanting to drop one of these in an emergency kit and prefer warm tints, but for emergencies I'd rather go for run-time....

Re: Malkoff M61WLL

Actually if you look at Malkoffs site, the M61LL is run at 150mA, where the M61WLL is run at 140mA. So I would think the M61WLL would run longer.

But the M61WLL is rated at 70 lumens, where the M61LL is 100 lumens. For its intended purpose, I'll take a 30 lumen hit for the gorgeous tint and slight longer runtime.

PS: 16H 25m and still strong!!!

Thanks for the info - I didnt notice that about the draw... And I agree - a 30 lumen loss is totally worth the tint.

OK, time to wait for one to come in stock and then decide if I should ditch my M60WLL in its place... :ironic:

BTW - Busses and Malkoffs go together quite well dont they - good luck on your hunt for orange :twothumbs:twothumbs:twothumbs

Re: Malkoff M61WLL

At 17.5 hours it dropped to about 8 lumens. It is now at 19 hours and maybe three to five lumens. Its nice to know that even on a protected Li Ion it wont just cut out and leave ya in the dark. Its been an hour and a half and still has very useable light.

I'm happy w the runtime on a 18650. :D

The Mx1W's were originally 5000K (for output). After some consideration and feedback I have switched to 4000K.

Thanks, Gene

I'm on my 3rd M61W and the tint has been great. Nice and warm. I just got a M61WLL two days ago and it's good to know it runs for sooooo long. The tint is great as well.

I am the opposite. I want the full 100 lumens of M61LL. I like the tint of my M61 so think this will be similar.

Any idea what kind of run time you'd get with the new 2900 mAh 18650? Something in the 20 hour ball park prehaps?

I ran a M60LL for a long time in a 6P. I recently switched it out for a M61WLL.

The warn tint of the M61WLL is hands down the nicest led flashlight bean I've ever seen. And I've owned about 10 or more M60's in the past.

From now on, I won't purchase anything but warn tints from Gene.

Re: Malkoff M61WLL

Are you sure the protective circuit is being triggered? How low was the Li-Ion battery at the end of this run?

The circuit wasnt triggered, I believe its just the module dropping out of regulation. If the circuit was triggered, it would simply shut off.
