I wish to come out of the dark ages and replace my incandescent Maglite with a multi-level LED light. For several reasons I prefer 2X AA powered lights. For day-to-day use, my choice is down to a Fenix LD20 or a EagleTac P20A2. For infrequent/emergency use, a Fenix E21 seems like a good choice.

However, I do have two questions that I hope experienced users here may be able to answer.

I downloaded the manual for the P20A2, but there is no mention of how the pocket clip can be removed. Can it? If so, how?

Second, the power sources for the Fenix E21 are listed as AA alkaline or nickel metal hydride. Lithium is not mentioned, although it is mentioned as an option for the LD20. I like lithium because of its long shelf life for an infrequently used/emergency light. Also, I believe the energy density is significantly higher than a low drain Ni-MH battery. Is there any reason I shouldn't use a lithium primary battery in a Fenix E21?
