Problem with my NEW Quark Mini 123 Titanium

Just received my Quark Mini 123 Titanium. Put the battery in and NOTHING!

I could not get it to function at all. Took it apart and cleaned everything off. Still no light.

I looked a the way the light is designed and saw that the PC board in the head has a metal ring around the perimeter. This must make contact with the body of the light to complete the circuit with the battery.

I put a dab of marking blue on the ring and saw there was no contact.

I cut a piece of metal foil to fill the gap and it now works!

Obviously not a permanent fix. But at least I know what is wrong.

I have contacted 4Sevens to see if there is a way I can fix this to avoid the hassle of returning the light.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a field fix?

what brand cell are you using? Is the spring properly placed?

I initially used the 4Sevens cell that came with the light. Tried two other brands, no joy.

I removed the spring and reinserted it to make sure it was aligned.

The only fix that worked was my piece of foil.

Sounds like the pill is screwed in too far. I wonder if the o-ring between lens and bezel was left out during assembly, thus allowing reflector and pill to move too far forward. I've seen this happen before, but not in a QMini.

4Sevens is replacing the light. Sending the replacement without me having to first return the old one.

Great customer service. :twothumbs
