For flashlights, Surefire, don't mod them much except withrun of the mill parts, AW cells.

Knives, Chris Reeve, Bob Terzoula, and have a few Spydercos. Seem to really like the work of Ray Laconico for an affordable custom knife but haven't bought one yet. Very clean and nice lines.

love Kershaw and Benchmade..but with that being said...a custom knife maker..Gil Hibben lives about 60 or so miles away from me..made ALOT of tv and movie knifes...including the Rambo 3 and 4 knives..as well as at least 2 knives from The Expendables....

(the Infinity Ultra is virtually indestructible, and nicely satisfies the 'new' low-brightness craze, despite being almost an antique...my EDC Ultra ran through a washing machine years ago, and has been sunk to the bottom of a swimming pool several times, and still works flawlessly - but note that I do not like what Gerber did with the design later on)
