Arc AAA (x2)

Hello there in Arc Land!

A friend of mine who is a physician says that every doctor in America would buy an Arc AAA that fit the following description:


1. It would be about twice the length of a standard AAA (about pen length)

2. It would have a "clickie" or ball-point pen type push button.

3. It would have a pen-like clip (I think the current one will do)


Evidently the little pen lights available leave much to be desired.

Are there any light like this out there?

have you heard of the "stylus" by streamlight ?
sounds like what you need...

The Stylus is 3 AAAA, and longer than that to which the medical field is accustomed. There are 2 AAAA Stylus', (Styluses, Stylii?), whatever, but they are in color only. It's difficult to get proper color rendition with a colored LED.

Medical pen lighs are mainly used for otorhinolaryngological (plain english) nose, ear, mouth exams. so therefore, they need to be more a a focus beam than a spot that the AAA produce. If ARC can make the AAA beam more focused then it can be applied, but on the other hand physicians are hard headed and like to stick to old ideas. So, they would still prefer to stick to brand names they're familiar with.

The standard flood from an Arc AAA, a stylus or any other overdriven 5mm led gives plenty of light in just the right places for most standard look-n-see's.
If I'm doing some serious poking around, there's specific equipment for that.
