I just got back from being an usher for the Historic Cemetery Tour here in Sactown. Lots of fun. There were three tours tonight. 6pm, 8pm, and 10pm. The 6pm tour was at dusk. The 8pm tour was under heavy overcast. The 10pm tour was under a full moon!

Now for the lights. I believe I had the brightest in the group, a 12ZM. The only light that gave it a run for the money was a Costco triple LED model used by a fellow volunteer. He was an elderly gentlemen who had one of those no name shower head handhelds for inclose work. A closet flashaholic. My primary duty light was an Arc6. One lady who I was escorting because her husband had wandered off commented upon seeing my Arc6, "Oh, they didn't give you a good flashlight to use?" I just chuckled to myself. The flashlights they handed out to the volunteers were these triple AAA LEDs that had a reflector mounted LED in the front and a red traffic cone in the back. The paying customers had lots of Mags, one guy had a 5D Mag with depleted cells, LED lanterns, and an assortment of lights that you would find at a Target or Walmart. And a few didn't have any lights at all. What some people will buy to use at night.

My 12ZM was sporting a Lumens Factory lamp. I have always been a SF purist and shied away from aftermarket lamps. I got this one as part of a package deal. I used it because it gave a round artifact free beam, unlike the MN60 LA. This lamp rocks. Even with tired batteries the beam is still nice and bright and the SRTH turbohead really throws well with the Lumens Factory lamp.

Most of the time I was using the 7 lumen setting on the Arc6. Most of the people turned down there lights so we could get that spooky atmosphere. It was totally cool!

It was a great night to be a flashaholic, a full moon, a couple bright lights, and a graveyard to goof off in.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice!!

That's exactly what I would have done too, carry one big photon cannon but use the variable power light as a utility light, and dial it down.

I'd probably bring a U2 as my utility light and a TK40/P7/SRTH for the big gun :D

What lamp is in your 12ZM? Is it one of those insane IMR lamps or something a bit more tame?
